NEW DELHI: The security at the Ayodhya 's Ram Mandir has been tightened in the wake of a threat issued by Khalistani terrorist and chief of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), Gurpatwant Singh Pannun .

On the threat to attack Ayodhya's Ram Mandir, Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar said that the security arrangements have been increased around the premises.

"The deployment is done according to the security norms. We have increased the security arrangements in the whole of Ayodhya and Yellow zone of the shrine. We take cognizance of such threats," Kumar said while talking to reporters.

Pannun on Monday threatened to attack Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and other Hindu temples on November 16 and 17.

Pannun said, “We will shake the foundations of Ayodhya, birthplace of the violent Hindutva ideology.” SFJ said it planned to counter Indian diplomats organising life certificate camps in Canada, with specific challenges planned for Kalibari Mandir in Mississauga on November 16 and Triveni Mandir in Brampton on November 17.

After Pannun released a threat video, president of Takhat Sri Patna Sahib, Jagjot Singh Sohi, expressed strong disapproval of the statements made by Khalistani separatist Gurpanwant Singh Pannu regarding potential attacks on the Ram Janambhoomi temple in Ayodhya.

Sohi expressed disappointment over such inappropriate declarations, ANI news agency reported.

Sohi criticised Pannu's behaviour, describing his statements as unfounded and disrespectful. He also pointed out the alleged support from the Trudeau administration for such activities.

"It is a matter of great regret that he has given such a wrong statement which we strongly condemn. He has said nonsense many times before which is baseless, and disrespectful and he is not a Sikh at all, he always gives wrong messages, so we are strongly condemning it. Somewhere the Justin Trudeau government is sponsoring them. If we look at the recent incidents, it is clear that the Canadian government is supporting him," President of Takhat Sri Patna Sahib said.

"As I told you, we strongly condemn the statement given by Pannu. He has no connection to the Sikh religion. The teaching of our gurus does not affect them. Sikhs have always been martyrs for the Hindu religion," he further stated.
