'Policy after policy made for PM's friends': Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's all-out attack in Wayanad

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a strong critique of the BJP-led central government on Monday alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s administration is crafting policies to benefit his close associates.

Addressing a public gathering in Wayanad as part of her campaign for the upcoming bypolls , she claimed that “policy after policy is made to favour the PM's friends,” at the expense of ordinary citizens.

She warned that this perceived bias toward powerful allies erodes constitutional values and urged a renewed commitment to upholding the country’s core principles.

Priyanaka said that the BJP 's governance undermines the rights of common people , positioning her remarks as a rallying call to protect these rights.

On her way to Meenangadi, Priyanka was met with an outpouring of support from Wayanad residents. Crowds lined the streets, offering smiles, greetings, and symbolic tokens that reflected the region's rich culture and deep connection to the land.

Local nuns extended their blessings, and women working in nearby nurseries presented her with small saplings—symbols of Wayanad’s green legacy and commitment to environmental preservation.

The Wayanad seat, previously held by her brother Rahul Gandhi, was vacated after his election to Parliament from Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh. The bypoll is scheduled for November 13 and comes as a crucial test for the Congress in Kerala.

Priyanka Gandhi’s warm reception in Wayanad highlights her growing connection with the constituency, where she has pledged to address local issues, especially those affecting women and tribal communities, and to continue Rahul Gandhi’s work in the region.
