NEW DELHI: Pakistan launched a coordinated drone and missile attack targeting Jammu late Thursday night, triggering emergency protocols and a complete blackout across multiple districts, including Jammu city, Akhnoor, and Kishtwar, reported ANI.
Pakistan attempted to target the Jammu airport using loitering munitions. In response, Indian air defence systems were activated, and several incoming threats were intercepted mid-air, as per TV reports.
Sirens blared across key areas as residents reported intense firing from Indian Air Defence guns engaging hostile aerial objects.
A full power blackout was enforced in strategic locations as part of the defensive protocol, with air raid sirens continuing to be heard across the Jammu division to alert citizens of the ongoing threat.
This latest escalation follows India’s Operation Sindoor , a retaliatory strike on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.
