Most of us feel that this tip will make no difference on the taste, flavour or freshness of eggs. But according to a leading daily, how you store eggs can make a lot of difference. In fact, this practice suggested by the chef may help in keeping eggs fresh for a long time. This is because storing eggs involves placing the narrow end down and the larger side on top. This happens because an air cell forms on the larger end of the egg, which cools after laying.

What happens when you store eggs in the right way?
With the aging of eggs, this air cell gradually gets bigger, and its location is vital to maintaining the texture and freshness of eggs intact. Moreover, the air cell at the top of the egg stays stable when it is stored with its broader side up; this reduces the movement and stops it from expanding too quickly. This stability is essential for slowing down the egg’s natural moisture loss over time by preserving the internal pressure of the egg. On the other hand, when eggs are not stored in the right way at room temperature, it may lead to loss of texture and loss of moisture.
