WWE 's much-anticipated post-Christmas live event at Madison Square Garden , a longtime favorite for wrestling fans in New York City, has not yet been officially announced. While the iconic show, traditionally held at MSG in late December, is a major part of WWE’s holiday tour, its status for 2024 remains unclear.

Fans look forward to this unique event every year and 2024 is not exception. In this article, we will take a look into the future of this year's Madison Square Garden show. Read on to learn more.

Has the 12/26 Madison Square Garden show been canceled?

According to a recent update from Fightful Select, there is still hope that the event will take place, despite its absence from the company’s official announcements. WWE graphics advertising upcoming live events and television broadcasts through the end of the year have notably left out any mention of the MSG spectacle. However, numerous WWE talents have indicated that the show is still listed on the company’s internal talent relations app, suggesting the event has not been scrapped entirely.

Back in the summer, Fightful reported that the show was indeed planned, but further details have been scarce. WWE fans and insiders alike are now left waiting for an official confirmation as the year draws to a close.

WWE’s 2024 Holiday Tour announcements

Although Madison Square Garden is currently off the schedule, WWE has revealed that its 2024 Holiday Tour will stop in nine additional major cities. Jacksonville, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Orlando, Baltimore, Chicago, Miami, Houston, and Detroit are a few of these. Notably, on December 26, 2024, WWE is set to host an event at Jacksonville's Vystar Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Highlights from last year’s MSG event

Last year’s MSG event was a memorable one, featuring several high-profile matches. In a heated Bull Rope Match, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defended his title against Drew McIntyre; CM Punk made his ring comeback against Dominik Mysterio, nicknamed "Dirty" Dominik; and Cody Rhodes faced off against Shinsuke Nakamura. These marquee matches helped solidify the event as one of WWE’s premier holiday showcases.

WWE's last appearance at Madison Square Garden in 2024
The most recent WWE event held at Madison Square Garden took place on June 28, 2024, during an episode of "WWE SmackDown." This event featured a dramatic storyline involving The Bloodline. Members Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa turned on Paul Heyman during a "acknowledgment ceremony," which was Heyman's final appearance on television. The unexpected turn of events stunned fans and added another historic moment to WWE’s long history at MSG.

As WWE’s holiday tour schedule continues to take shape, the fate of the annual Madison Square Garden event remains one of the biggest questions heading into the end of the year. Fans eagerly await news of whether WWE will return to the iconic venue for another unforgettable post-Christmas show.
