Sedona Prince breaks silence after going undrafted in WNBA

Send Push
During the 2025 WNBA Draft , Sedona Prince , the 6-foot-7 center from TCU , went undrafted despite being ranked as the No. 13 prospect by Bleacher Report. Prince was praised for her ability to dominate on both ends of the court, using her size to be a force defensively while also contributing offensively. However, reports indicated that assault allegations from four women played a role in teams deciding not to select her.

In an Instagram story, Prince shared a video of herself dunking in a workout, with a caption reading “not too shabby,” accompanied by a voice—presumably hers—giggling and saying the same thing. The post, which showed her athletic ability, seemed to be a message to her followers that she was staying positive despite the disappointing outcome.

Prince has consistently denied the allegations, stating, "I’ve never abused anybody emotionally, physically, mentally, verbally. That’s not me, and that’s not what I’ve done." She continues to defend her character, emphasizing that no formal charges have been filed against her.

The allegations led to a petition calling for her dismissal from the TCU basketball team, which gathered over 200,000 signatures. In response, her attorney, A. Boone Almanza, defended her, stating, “Sedona has not been charged with a crime or found guilty of any wrongdoing. She has been convicted on social media by people seeking to build their influence and settle personal grudges.”

Almanza added that if Prince made any mistakes, they were tied to her social media presence, particularly on TikTok, and that these were part of the learning process for a young adult.

As the WNBA preseason is set to begin on May 2, 2025, it remains uncertain if Prince will be given a chance by any of the league's teams. At this point, Prince is still hoping for an opportunity, despite the challenges she’s faced.

The future for Prince in the WNBA is unclear, but her athletic talent and determination remain undeniable. Only time will tell if a team will offer her a chance to prove herself in the league.
