Former Pittsburgh Steelers standout Antonio Brown has remained in the public eye through his unpredictable behavior on social media, despite being out of the NFL since his infamous exit during a 2021 matchup between the Buccaneers and Jets. The wide receiver has attracted a large audience on X, frequently going viral for his erratic remarks and controversial uploads.

Antonio Brown slams CBS, then caught in fundraiser hoax

The collage supposedly posted by CBS Sports had the word "retired" under every wide receiver featured except Antonio Brown, whose image was labeled "retarded." Although he seemed to laugh it off at first, he clearly wasn’t okay with it. Brown shared a screenshot of the post on his X profile and responded with a message calling it out. "F**k you 2 (too) CBS (laughing emoji)."

Antonio Brown was also misled by another hoax this week. He launched a GoFundMe for a Georgia man arrested for child neglect after leaving his three kids at a McDonald's during a supposed job interview. The fundraiser hit $80,000, but later reports revealed the man had lied, as the hotel denied any interview. Brown later addressed the situation with a statement.

"I’m gathering additional information from the family. In the meantime, I continue to be in touch with GoFundMe and the funds will remain on hold. If anyone would like to request a refund in the meantime, GoFundMe will honor it. Will provide an update after more details are figured out. I hope to still hope the family out… but want to make sure it’s for a good cause."

Brown expressed confidence that the man had genuinely attended a job interview on the day in question, despite the conflicting reports. However, he made it clear that he wouldn’t stop donors from reclaiming their contributions if they felt misled. Brown emphasized that his intention was to help someone in need and said this incident wouldn't discourage him from continuing to support others facing difficult circumstances in the future.

In the end, while the situation may not have turned out as expected, Brown stood by his intentions to do good. He made it clear that one setback wouldn’t stop him from trying to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
