Rajkot: A 48-year-old hotel owner was caught with 43.8g of mephedrone worth Rs 4.38 lakh from his place of business at Bhachau town in Kutch on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, the Kutch (east) special operations group (SOG) led by inspector D D Zala raided the hotel of Bhanwarlal Bishnoi in the Chopadwa area and seized the contraband. Police also seized other suspicious material which has been sent for forensic examination.
Bishnoi is originally from Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Bishnoi was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Bhachau police station. Investigations are underway to determine the source of the synthetic drug.
