Water supply to be disrupted in city for 24 hrs

Bhubaneswar: The Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO) has advised residents to store water in advance as the drinking water supply across most areas of Bhubaneswar will be disrupted for 24 hours, starting from 2 pm on Friday and continuing till 2 pm on Saturday, due to essential pipeline repairs.

In a post on X, Watco said: “Due to essential pipeline repairs at Mundali, there will be a water supply interruption in Bhubaneswar from 2 pm on the 18th to 2 pm on the 19th. We request your cooperation and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

Watco also listed the areas where the water supply will be affected, covering various regions under its divisions in Ghatikia, Pokhariput, High-Level Tank, Nayapalli, and Chandrasekharpur.

In the Ghatikia division, the affected areas include Kalinganagar, Patrapada, Bharatpur, Shampur, Ghatikia, Khandagiri Bari, Khandagiri Vihar, Kolathia, Aiginia, Baramunda, Jagannath Vihar, Rental Colony, CRPF Area, Ekamra Villa, Baramunda Bus Stand area, Tapoban, AIIMS Nagar, and AIIMS Hospital.

In the Pokhariput division, areas such as Jadupur, Dumduma village, Dumduma housing board colony, Jagamara, Jagmohan Nagar, Dharma Vihar, Gandamunda, Bhakta Madhu Nagar, Ananta Vihar, Lingaraj Vihar, Kargil Basti, Kapil Prasad village, Kapil Prasad BDA colony, Sundarpada, Baramunda village, Krishna Garden, Mallik Complex, Siddhi Vihar, Saubhagya Nagar, and Shatabdi Nagar will be impacted.

For the High-Level Tank division, the affected regions include the Aerodrome Area, Bhimpur, Palaspalli, Forest Park, Siripur, Ganganagar, and parts of Units I to VIII.

In the Nayapalli division, water supply will be disrupted in IRC Village, N-1 to N-6, Nayapalli Village, Kaveri Basti, Gadasahi Basti, Neelakantha Nagar, Balipada Sahi, Anand Vihar, Sitapur Basti, and Shastri Nagar.

Lastly, in the Chandrasekharpur division, Niladri Vihar, Salia Sahi, and Maitri Vihar will face disruptions.
