Just days after the , developer is back with a new update for PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android.
Fortnite update 34.40 has been given an April 22 release date by Epic Games. Unfortunately, however, the new content won't be available to sample until after a period of server downtime.
Fortnite server maintenance will begin at 9am BST for fans living in the UK. That's 4am ET for US players.
The news was announced by Epic Games on X: "Downtime for v34.40 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand."
As you can see from the tweet above, matchmaking will be disabled shortly beforehand. This means you won't be able to join a game in the moments leading up to downtime.
Server downtime typically lasts between 2-3 hours, although the suggests maintenance will last for four hours.
In terms of what fans can expect, the new update will introduce a new TMNT crossover. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover was teased by Epic Games on X. You can check out the teaser below.
According to industry insider , the TMNT crossover includes Casey Jones, Krang's Android, Bebop and Rocksteady.
Interestingly, the latest leak claims there will be a new skin inspired by Jenna Ortega, codenamed "FlameBride".
Needless to say, the update should also shed new light on the upcoming launch of Season 3, including a potential end of season event.
Based on the trailer and teasers released over the weekend, Season 3 will have a Star Wars theme, including new characters and gameplay features.
The Battle Pass and Item Shop will welcome the likes of Darth Jar Jar Binks, Emperor Palpatine, Mace Windu and Poe Dameron.
That's on top of Sith and Jedi variants of Evie, Wookie Team Leader, Captain Phasma and a customisable Mandalorian skin.
The upcoming season will also introduce new gameplay features, including the ability to pilot and co-pilot X-wings and TIE fighters.
