Sunday Brunch fans realise unrecognisable guest is hugely famous 90s star

Sunday Brunch fans were baffled that hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer did not mention guest Paul Feig's acting career.

The Channel 4 presenters introduced Paul to the show as an American director, producer, and screenwriter, failing to mention his hugely famous role in a fan-favourite sitcom alongside Melissa Joan Hart.

Fortunately, eagle-eyed fans were on hand to remind social media users of Paul's past work in the 1990s. They highlighted to other users that he had once been a huge star in the 1996 hit Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

Fans also pointed out that despite looking totally different, Paul had played the role of the famous Mr. Eugene Pool, Sabrina's science teacher in the series.

Despite only playing Mr Pool for one series, fans still remember his iconic role in the series to this day.

Over on X, the site that was once Twitter, was abuzz with adoring fans who urged for the hosts to at least address his past role. One person penned: "Mr pool a#sabrinatheteenagewitch #SundayBrunch."

Another added: "I had to google who this Paul bloke is because Tim and Simon failed to introduce him at all #sundaybrunch can't believe he's Mr Pool, looks nothing like him."

A third said:#SundayBrunch #paulfeig why has nobody mentioned that he used to be Mr. Pool and Sabrina the teenage witch!!!" As a fourth comment read: "Hang on a minute........was that Mr. Pool from Sabrina the teenage witch #SundayBrunch." (sic)

Meanwhile, later on in the show, things appeared to turn slightly awkward when Tim approached Paul, who resides in Los Angeles, with a question about the fires that stole the lives of 30 people and made thousands homeless.

After a conversation about the movie world and films not being shot in LA anymore, Tim quickly made his move to probe the director and producer on the tragic blaze. He asked:"And how is it after the fires?"

"I mean everyone is recovering, it was devastating so many people that we know lost everything," said Paul with a heavy heart. Tim further probed: "It's unbelievable, it went on forever, didn't it?"

To which Paul simply replied: "Yeah it was really bad, kind of a perfect storm of events," there was an awkward silence as Tim began to glance around the room before saying: "Ok," and moving on to his co-star Simon who was cooking a salmon, Wasabi and avocado dish.

Sunday Brunch airs on Channl 4, each Sunday from 10am.
