Tears were shed on the set of BBC's 'Stacey and Joe' when comforted a heartbroken Joe Swash as he candidly confronted his personal struggles.
The beloved television personality returned to our screens on Tuesday (April 15) with another episode of the couple's six-part series, which premiered last month and delves into their domestic life.
In the recent show, while Stacey busied herself crafting eerie decorations for her Halloween bash, Joe ventured out to check out a glamping expo, only to be brought back to earth by the staggering costs required to create his dream fishing lake.
Emotions ran high in the episode as Joe revealed his ongoing battle with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and its impact on his childhood. "Being a kid, I don't think ADHD back then was even recognised, so I had ADHD and a touch of dyslexia, so I really got tarred with the brush of being a naughty kid," he said.
Joe went on to explain how he coped: "I feel like I sort of invented this character to sort of protect myself a little bit, just making people laugh.", reports Wales Online.
Throughout the episode, viewers followed him as he sought psychiatric advice to help manage his ADHD amidst his hectic schedule. After meeting with the psychiatrist and contemplating his options, Joe chose to revisit medication and returned to his home at Pickle Cottage.
Reflecting on his consultation, Joe told Stacey: "It was nice to speak to him, because he understands the ins and outs of what's going on."

He then added: "It's opened up a box of worms for me, where it goes a little bit deeper than I thought it was going to."
As Joe struggled to hold back tears, his voice cracked with emotion. Stacey responded with empathy: "I know that's difficult to think about but ultimately you're a good person Joe and you're not able to be your best self at the moment.
"You don't deserve to be going through this. This is about finding your footing again," she reassured him. Overwhelmed, Joe let his emotions spill over, wiping away tears as he managed a faint quip: "Yeah... so that's that." Stacey swiftly enveloped him in a warm hug, whispering words of comfort: "I love you."
Stacey and Joe airs every Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One.
