In January, the couple's philanthropic efforts in Los Angeles during their visit to volunteer after the devastating California wildfires were criticised by various royal watchers and A-listers, . Most recently, the couple were savaged after they were spotted moving around in New York with a four-car motorcade.

They could be in their own cave and do nothing [after quitting as senior working royals]. [But they want to] bring voice and life to issues.
