Manchester United handed latest injury boost in training - but there's a twist

Mason Mount was pictured in Manchester United training on Monday, marking a significant step in his recovery from his latest injury. The midfielder has been out of action since United's dreadful 3-0 loss to Tottenham at the end of September.

However, while his return to the training pitch is a significant boost, it remains uncertain whether he will be fit for selection before the November international break.

United are set to face PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday and Leicester City in the Premier League at the weekend in Ruud van Nistelrooy's final two matches as interim manager.

Injury issues have kept him sidelined for the last seven matches across all competitions, limiting his appearances to just 25 in all competitions since his arrival last summer.

Despite United's push to sell players over the summer to comply with PSR rules, Mount reportedly received strong support from influential figures within the club.

There is said to be a belief that the 25-year-old midfielder can rediscover his best form at Stamford Bridge and become a crucial squad member under Amorim.

He will now aim to keep his fitness levels high and demonstrate his value to Amorim as a new chapter begins at Old Trafford after the international break.

United's trip to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town - still winless since their Premier League return - marks the first game of Amorim's reign.

The Red Devils are also set to be boosted by Leny Yoro's return to contention when they face Kieran McKenna's side.

He has yet to make his competitive debut after joining from Lille in the summer after suffering a foot injury that required surgery in pre-season.
