AAI Partners with DRIIV to Innovate Indian Aviation Sector

NEW DELHI: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has joined forces with DRIIV (Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation) by signing a crucial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan. This partnership aims to enhance innovation, operational safety, and sustainable growth within the Indian aviation sector.

The MoU was signed by Shyamli Haldar, Executive Director of Air Traffic Management at AAI, and Shipra Mishra, CEO and Managing Director of DRIIV. This collaboration underscores a mutual commitment to fostering a robust ecosystem that supports start-ups and accelerates the development of technological solutions specifically for the aviation industry. The initiative is set to transform India's aviation landscape by promoting efficiency, safety, and environmentally friendly practices.

M Suresh, Chairman of AAI, said, "This partnership with DRIIV is a pivotal moment for us. By leveraging innovation and emerging technologies, we are not only ensuring the safety and efficiency of aviation operations but also contributing to the sustainability of the industry."

Shipra Mishra expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, "We are excited to work with AAI to introduce innovative solutions from start-ups and research communities. This MoU will create future-ready, technology-driven solutions that will have a lasting impact on aviation in India."

Under this agreement, DRIIV will spearhead the development of an innovation ecosystem with AAI's support. The focus will be on engaging start-ups to address specific challenges related to safety, efficiency, and sustainability within the aviation sector. AAI will provide expertise and relevant data to assist in product development, while DRIIV will identify and partner with high-quality start-ups to create solutions for critical civil aviation issues.

Additionally, DRIIV plans to advance the Civil Aviation Research Organization (CARO) as a premier research and development center, collaborating with national and international research agencies to enhance aviation technology in line with India's development goals. AAI and DRIIV will also organize innovation challenges at CARO, encouraging start-ups, researchers, and tech experts to submit their innovative solutions for the aviation sector.

As the Indian aviation industry continues to progress, this strategic partnership is set to pave the way for a safer, more efficient, and sustainable future, positioning India as a leader in aviation innovation.
