Chennai, April 2025: Hola Chennai! Focaccia at Hyatt Regency is turning up the heat in collaboration with Soul on a Plate, bringing you SABORES DE MÉXICO. So prep those taste buds as Home Chef Erika, a culinary firecracker, is all set to take Chennai on a trip to Mexico, no passport required. The real deal is her collection of recipes, passed down from her grandmother and rooted in cherished memories.
This four-day pop-up features an à la carte menu, brunch, and tequila dinner, celebrating authentic Mexican cuisine—the first of its kind in Chennai, bold, soulful, and bursting with flavors, crafted just like it’s done in Mexico. You’ll be greeted by a fiesta in full swing—with vibrant piñatas, delicate papel picado streamers, rustic cactus accents, and bold splashes of Mexican charm all around.
From Ceviche and Mole de Olla to Tostada de Tinga, Chiles Rellenos, and Pan de Elote, every dish is infused with soul and tradition—the air rich with the smoky aroma of chillies, warm spices, and roasted corn—all beautifully paired with your favorite tequila for the complete experience.
“This pop-up is our way of rekindling Chennai’s love for real-deal Mexican food,” says Chef Manish Uniyal, Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Chennai. “Home Chef Erika brings the soul of her homeland to every dish, and we’re thrilled to share that with our guests.”
