Actually, now India is emphasizing on building nuclear submarines under this project. Let us tell you about it in detail.

India is increasing power

In view of China's increasing interference in the Indian Ocean, India has decided that it will build two nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSN). For this India will spend 5.4 billion US dollars. However, by building these submarines, India will not only control China, but will also emerge as a new maritime power in the world.

According to reports, these nuclear submarines will be built at the government shipbuilding center in Visakhapatnam with the help of Larsen & Toubro. It is being said that these nuclear submarines will be faster, quieter and able to stay underwater for longer than conventional diesel-powered submarines.

Now know about Project 75

The nuclear submarines we are talking about above are being built under a special project, 'Project 75'. Actually, India's Project 75 is an ambitious defense program, which has been started with the aim of building indigenous submarines for the Indian Navy. The main objective of Project 75 is to strengthen the country's maritime security and promote self-reliance.

6 submarines of Project-75

India's maritime border is quite vast, which is about 7,516 kilometers long. To protect such a large border, any country must have a capable and effective navy. India's Navy is the best in many respects. But there is still a need to work on nuclear submarines. Project-75 is to fill this gap.

Under Project-75, India will build 6 submarines, out of which approval has been given for two, which we have told you about above. In simple language, the main objective of Project-75 is to build 6 indigenous submarines with the help of Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology. The biggest thing is that under Project 75, all the 6 submarines will be built completely in India, which will move the country towards self-reliance.

Talking about the specialty of these submarines made in India, these submarines will be equipped with many types of missiles and torpedoes. Apart from this, they will also be equipped with modern communication and surveillance equipment.
