Kusha Kapila's new look stuns fans. How did she lose so much weight? Her fitness and diet routine resurfaces

Send Push
Kusha Kapila, one of India’s most beloved digital stars, has carved a niche for herself with her razor-sharp wit, powerful screen presence, and unfiltered candor. Rising to fame through her viral South Delhi character sketches on Instagram, Kusha quickly transitioned from internet fame to mainstream stardom, making her mark as a content creator, fashion influencer, actress, and a voice of modern Indian womanhood. Known for her fearless takes on everything from pop culture to patriarchy, Kusha has earned a loyal fanbase that closely follows every aspect of her journey, personal and professional. This week, however, it wasn’t her punchlines or screen roles that grabbed the spotlight — it was her striking physical transformation.

Spotted by the paparazzi on Thursday night in Mumbai, Kusha turned heads in a laid-back blue shirt and denim outfit. While her signature smile and charm remained intact, it was her noticeably leaner frame that sparked an online frenzy. Social media platforms buzzed with reactions, with many netizens expressing disbelief at her new look. Comments ranged from awe to scepticism — some wondered aloud if she had undergone cosmetic procedures or relied on trending weight-loss aids like Ozempic, a diabetes medication often misused for its slimming effects.

Internet reacts
Some users felt she looked more attractive before, especially appreciating her original smile and natural teeth. Others speculated whether she had undergone dental work, while a few remarked that she looked like a completely different person, suggesting that the transformation was so stark it was hard to recognize her.

Kusha Kapila about weight loss and Ozempic drug use
Amid the speculation, a Reddit post featuring screenshots from Kusha’s Instagram story went viral. In it, she addressed the transformation head-on with refreshing honesty. She revealed that the shift wasn’t a result of shortcuts or secrets — just consistency. “I just fell into a routine,” she shared. “I changed cities and to cope with it, I spent time moving, walking, gyming, eating well — and it just showed.”

Kusha emphasised that her weight loss journey wasn’t driven by pressure to conform but by a natural rhythm she developed over time. She further pushed back against the trend of glorifying transformation through before-and-after reels. “I don't think it's necessary to do a journey video,” she wrote, instead focusing on how strength training had helped her mental health more than anything else. “I wish they taught about the benefits of activity and movement in schools,” she added, saying that any time she felt down in Mumbai, she would “hit the gym or move.”
Taking on the rising discourse around Ozempic, Kusha didn’t hold back. Responding to a fan who asked whether they should take the drug, she firmly denied ever using it and urged her followers to avoid unsupervised use of medication. “I can't tell you that because I haven't taken it. I have lost weight some 4-5th times in my life. I do have a complicated relationship with weight, but not complicated enough to use drugs,” she said.

She strongly discouraged the use of drugs like Ozempic for weight loss, emphasising the dangers of illegitimate and unsupervised use. She urged her followers to consult medical professionals instead of relying on advice from the internet. Adding a touch of her signature humour, she revealed she had indulged in everything from chole bhature to tres leches that day, and planned to balance it out with a workout the next day. For her, it's all about finding that balance — even if it might be fleeting.
