Cracking the NEET (the national medical entrance test) remains an elusive dream for many in India. However, succeeding in this test is not child’s play, and for many NEET hopefuls, the dream of becoming a doctor remains a distant dream. Recently, a failed NEET aspirant shared an emotional post on how his father cheered him up after he failed NEET 25 badly.
Taking to the popular subreddit JEENEETards, the Reddit user shared a picture of delicious pizzas and wrote, “After failing NEET 25, my dad brought this.”
The post went viral on the sub, gaining more than 3,000 likes. Many netizens were floored at the father’s sweet and thoughtful gesture. “That's a W (win) for Dad!” gushed one, to which the user responded, “But I can see disappointment in his face...”
“Bhai, that's fair but he knows that you'll be feeling very down rn so pizza mangwa ke mood light karte hai...” the other wrote.
Another user shared a heartwarming anecdote on how their father took them to KFC (Kentucky’s Fried Chicken) after they admitted they had messed up the examination.
“ Mere papa ne bhi chili chicken khilaya , bole agli baar dekh lena.. (My father treated me to chili chicken and told me to try again), wrote another user.
About NEET
India boasts one of the world’s most extensive medical education networks, featuring more than 740 accredited institutions that provide courses in MBBS, BDS, and allied health sciences. Admission is exclusively through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG), ensuring a merit-driven selection process. Premier institutes like AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, and CMC Vellore consistently rank at the top, while students can choose from a wide range of government and private colleges across the country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET UG 2025 examination on Sunday, May 4, with 22.7 lakh candidates registered across 5,453 exam centres in more than 500 cities. NEET UG remains the only entrance test in India for admission to undergraduate medical programs. Over the years, the number of aspirants has steadily increased.
