Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has praised following the pacer's performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Siraj, who now represents Gujarat Titans (GT), delivered a career-best spell in T20 cricket, picking up four wickets for just 17 runs in his four overs.

The cricketer-turned-commentator saluted the right-arm pacer for his dedication, especially after a challenging few months. The 31-year-old speedster was released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ahead of the IPL 2025 auction and failed to find a spot in India’s squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. Indian captain Rohit Sharma had pointed out the pacer’s lack of consistency in the middle and death overs for being the reason for his dropping out of the squad.

The 61-year-old Sidhu remarked that this IPL season is crucial for the pacer as he aims to make a comeback into the Indian team. After a bad start to the season, where he conceded 54 runs against Punjab Kings (PBKS), the Hyderabad-born cricketer bounced back strongly in the following games.

“After being dropped from the Champions Trophy squad, Siraj came to the IPL. There were more questions than answers. He dismissed Rohit and Rickelton, and then he removed Padikkal and Salt in IPL. Today, he answered all questions. He dismissed Head and Abhishek. With the old ball, the way he got Aniket lbw and bowled Simarjeet with a yorker. Siraj has answered all the questions. He has risen as a complete bowler. I salute your commitment," said Sidhu.
