Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], November 1 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel celebrated Diwali with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries in Gandhinagar on Thursday.
According to an official release, Chief Minister Patel celebrated the auspicious festival of Diwali (Deepotsav) with beneficiary families of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at Namo Narayan Residency in Gandhinagar.
Addressing the residents, the Chief Minister encouraged them to uphold cleanliness and sanitation across the entire residency, just as they collectively embraced the spirit of Diwali.
The Chief Minister urged residents to set a positive example by maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
CM Patel exchanged Diwali greetings with the families and enjoyed a vibrant display of fireworks.
The event was graced by Gandhinagar Mayor Meera Patel, MLA Rita Patel, officials of the Municipal Corporation and City Organization, Housing Secretary Shri Gohil, as well as other dignitaries and residents.
According to an official statement, in February 2024, 1,208 houses were inaugurated under PMAY in Gandhinagar, an official statement from the Gujrat government said.
This initiative was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide homeownership to ordinary and middle-income families across India, creating opportunities for these families to come together in celebration within their communities. (ANI)
