BPL Ration Card Update: Important Alert for Cardholders – Complete E-KYC by April 30 or Lose Your Ration Card

Send Push

BPL Ration Card Update: The last date for completing E-KYC for BPL ration cardholders is fast approaching. If you haven’t completed your E-KYC process yet, you must act quickly, as the deadline is set for April 30, 2025. Failing to complete E-KYC by this date will result in your name being removed from the ration card list.

Over 72 Lakh Beneficiaries Still to Complete E-KYC

The deadline for completing E-KYC has already been extended six times, and there are only 3 days left before it expires. Despite the repeated extensions, a total of 72,18,818 ration cardholders in the state have not yet completed their E-KYC.
If these cardholders do not finish the process by April 30, their names will be removed from the ration card list, and they will lose access to the benefits.

Currently, there are a total of 2,63,74,332 ration cardholders in the state, but many are still at risk of losing their eligibility due to non-completion of the E-KYC process.

Action Against Fake Ration Cards

The Central Government has initiated the E-KYC process to remove fake ration cardholders from the system. Once the E-KYC process is completed, individuals with fake or fraudulent ration cards will no longer be eligible for benefits.
As part of this drive, PDS dealers have been given the responsibility of ensuring 100% E-KYC completion for their beneficiaries.

PDS Dealers in Crisis

Another issue impacting the Public Distribution System (PDS) is the non-payment of commissions to PDS dealers. For the past six months, around 25,000 PDS dealers in the state have not received their commission payments, accumulating to a total of ₹25 crore.
From November 2024 to April 2025, the dealers have not been compensated, which has created significant unrest among them.

Final Reminder: Complete E-KYC Now!

If you're a BPL ration cardholder, don't wait until the last minute to complete your E-KYC. Make sure your details are updated by April 30 to avoid losing your ration card and its associated benefits.
