IPL 2025: Meet Rajasthan Royals' New Powerhouse, Yudhvir Singh Charak

The Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to be one of the biggest newsmakers in recent times. And well, apart from entertainment, it also introduces the world to some of the finest cricketers across the globe. One such sportsman turns out to be Yudhvir Singh Charak, who stepped in to replace Tushar Deshpande during Rajasthan Royals’ match against Gujarat Titans on Monday.

Hailing from Jammu, Yudhvir was born on September 13, 1997. A right-arm fast bowler, he made his first big impression in domestic cricket, and now, he has taken over IPL with his remarkable skills.

Yudhvir made his big ODI and T20 debuts in 2019, back in Hyderabad, which is where he started his journey. Then, he returned to Jammu and Kashmir, where he also made a mark with his game.

It was the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2021 that turned out to grab a lot of attention and also earned him all the popularity, therefore leading to his 2023 IPL debut. In fact, he has also been a net bowler for the Mumbai Indians when they were in the UAE during 2020.

While he did not get much game time with MI, he joined them in 2021. It was in 2023 that the team released him, which eventually became quite the turning point in his career. When he was bought by RR in 2023, it turned out to be a new start for the bowler, and well, his journey so far has been quite the roller coaster.

So far, Yudhvir has played a total of six matches, and has taken four wickets, while also making a decent contribution with the bat. Nonetheless, he has still been included in the squad as a significant player and that says something about his potential and Rajasthan Royals’ faith in him.

While Yudhvir is a young talent and has a long way to go, Rajasthan Royals choosing Yudhvir Singh Charak over Akash Madhwal, a former Mumbai Indians player, has also been something that’s got everyone talking. He has impressive game numbers, but hasn’t been a part of RR’s playing XI for every match yet.

Meanwhile, Yudhvir too, is still building his place in the RR squad, and while he has played just one game in IPL 2025, there’s surely more to expect out of him, given the fact that RR has actively picked him to be a part of the squad.
