Liverpool forward is after he scored one and set one up in the Reds' victory over Chelsea in the .

And and believe that Salah has got another reason to pen an extended contract at Liverpool as he continues to fire his side to victories. As it stands, the Egyptian will be leaving for nothing at the end of the campaign when his current deal is set to expire.

"I think he will have one eye on Frank Lampard and Thierry Henry by the end of this season, I would imagine," Carragher said on Sky Sports. "I think stats like this are one of the big reasons Mohamed Salah will sign a new contract at .

  • "Of course you can talk about money or length of contract but these are the things that really get his juices going. He has broken all sorts of records at Liverpool but he will want to be up there with the very best in the Premier League."

Salah is already in Liverpool's top five scorers of all time and is now only nine away from leveling Billy Liddell's record in more than 150 fewer appearances. "I think anyone who is an attacker, who wants to be known as one of the best, you have to be obsessed with records," Sturridge added. "Your job is to score and help your team win. For him, it is up to him how he can add to his legacy.

"I think he will be among Liverpool's top three players ever. When he joined Liverpool, I don't think he thought he would be where he is today. I think he will have an eye on those players he has idolized, like Thierry Henry."

Liverpool.com says: If Salah stays at Liverpool for the rest of his career, he could almost threaten every goalscoring record going at Anfield. As he ages, his clinical finishing is unlikely to diminish, and he is more of a playmaker now than ever before, as his pass for goal showed. Salah still has plenty to give Liverpool and the ball is in the Reds' court.
