Horror as driver hits cyclist so hard he ends up wedged in roof and windscreen

This is the shocking moment a car driver hits a man riding a bicycle so hard that he smashes through the roof and windscreen and is left wedged there as it comes screeching to a halt.

The images were taken from horror CCTV footage on Kim Street in the village of Ilyinsky, which is a settlement in the in the early hours of Thursday morning, 7th November.

The video, shot from a nearby house - which the has chosen not to publish - shows a cyclist on an electric bike coming down the road when the Ford sedan that appears to be speeding comes from behind and smashes the bike into pieces. It then disappears off-screen, but later footage shows the lifeless body of the cyclist wedged in the roof and windscreen of the vehicle.

Medics were called but could only confirm the death of the man, who was not named but who was believed to be aged 55. Police are investigating. There have been numerous cases where accidents have been caught on camera in .

This summer when a runaway tram with "failed brakes" lost control as it picked up speed, and threw several commuters onto a busy highway. It eventually crashed into another tram in the city of Kemerovo in Siberia. Shocking footage showed the moment the tram took a corner at high speed with the doors coming off.

Two passengers were seen being hurled out some 50ft onto a busy road where alert drivers screeched to a halt in we conditions. They were seen lying motionless on the road. Another three passengers were taken to hospital in a serious condition. The number of wounded rose rapidly in the hours following the crash.

A local report said at the time: "The accident occurred early in the morning on Logovaya Highway. According to preliminary data, the tram traveling on route No. 10 experienced a brake system failure, as a result of which the car picked up enormous speed. As a result, at a turn, the doors of the tram were torn off and two people flew out.”
