A doctor has revealed that a supplement can help you combat stress. According to the expert, it’s possible that many of us are deficient in “anti stress vitamins”, which affects how we fight stress in the long run.
These vital vitamins are B vitamins, which play a vital role in maintaining good health and well-being. As the building blocks of a healthy body, B vitamins have a direct impact on your energy levels, brain function, and cell .
Vitamin B complex is a group of B vitamins that play a role in your body’s functions, including cardiovascular and cell health. You typically get these vitamins from a nutritious diet, but can be supplemented in different ways.

How can you tell if you’re deficient in B vitamins?
Most people get enough B vitamins by eating a balanced diet. However, it’s still possible to be deficient, especially if you’ve been taking certain medications for a while, such as proton pump inhibitors, or if you follow a very strict vegan or vegetarian diet.
The following symptoms may signal you’re not getting enough B vitamins:
skin rashes
cracks around the mouth
scaly skin on the lips
swollen tongue
fatigue
weakness
anaemia
confusion
irritability or depression
nausea
abdominal cramps
diarrhoea
constipation
numbness or tingling in the feet and hands
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms and aren’t sure why, make an appointment to talk with your doctor.
, a specialist in Neuropathy and host of The Cabral Concept podcast, recently shared his thoughts on Vitamin B as “anti stress vitamins” in a TikTok video. The caption read: “When we are stressed our bodies will use and deplete certain vitamins and minerals to buffer that stress.
“Our B vitamins are the first ones to get depleted and along with that usually, our magnesium is also getting low. At that point, your body doesn't have the nutrients it needs and the stress can take over and lead to many other health issues.
“Most of us experience a lot of stress in our lives so it's essential that we maintain healthy levels of these vital nutrient reserves.”
In the clip, he said: “So when you become chronically stressed, you deplete your B vitamins. So that is vital because your B vitamins are called the anti stress vitamin family.
“They help combat stress. Well, if you're low on B vitamins, how can you combat stress? You may also be low on magnesium.
“From a functional perspective, when you're low in magnesium, you can't buffer stress. You can't buffer the sympathetic nervous system. And calcium also stays in your bloodstream longer.
“Well, why does that matter? It can harden your arteries, cause cardiovascular disease, and stenosis in the future. So not good, right? These things don't happen overnight.”
