However, there are reasons to remember that 2019 final and there is a pretty good omen that Arsenal should be clinging too, if not for the final itself, then for actually reaching it.

Back in 2019, Arsenal took on Chelsea in the final of the , having smashed Valencia in the semi-finals. That year it was an all-English affair in both European finals, with the Gunners' fierce North London rivals Tottenham making it through to the final to take on Liverpool.

It could be an all-English final again in the Europa League, with Manchester United taking on Athletic Club in the other semi-final, although there will not be an English opponent for Arsenal in the Champions League final should they get there. They will face either Barcelona or Inter Milan.
